We almost always drive somewhere. East Orlando has enough good breakfast spots that it would take you the better part of a year to work through all of them.
Here’s where we go, and where I’d send anyone who asks!
Waterford Lakes Area
Keke’s Breakfast Cafe
504 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando
Keke’s grinds coffee in-house, hand-cracks every egg, and uses real butter and whipped cream: not the shortcuts you find at chains. The Florida Pancakes, stacked with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas, are worth the drive on their own.
Open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
Go early on weekends. There will be a wait, but it’s worth it!
First Watch: Waterford Lakes
1448 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando
If Keke’s is the indulgent choice, First Watch is the one you go to when you want to feel good about what you’re eating.
First Watch specializes in fresh, chef-driven breakfast with a rotating seasonal menu. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Farmhouse Hash, and fresh juice bar are consistent crowd favorites. Outdoor patio. Gluten-free and vegan options.
Open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
Clean food and good coffee! A solid morning routine spot.

Nuno’s Cafe
12001 Avalon Lake Dr., Suite E, Orlando
Nuno’s is a cozy breakfast and lunch spot in the heart of Avalon Park, known for hearty morning plates, standout French toast, and morning beverages. The Nuno’s favorite French toast, stuffed with Nutella and bananas, served with sweet dough croquettes on the side, is the order.
Hours run Tuesday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Mondays.
Small, local, and consistently good. Exactly the kind of spot that makes a neighborhood feel like a neighborhood.
DUO58 Community Coffee Bar & Café
Waterford Lakes / Avalon Park corridor
DUO58 is a coffee bar and café that pulls double duty as a solid breakfast spot, with unique latte flavors, food options, and a staff that regulars actually know by name.
Good for a slower morning when you want somewhere to sit with your coffee for a while. Comfortable, community-feel, not in a rush to turn tables!
Oviedo
Maple Street Biscuit Company
Oviedo location
Maple Street Biscuit Company consistently ranks as one of Oviedo’s top breakfast spots, known for creative Southern-inspired biscuit sandwiches with fresh, quality ingredients.
The biscuits are the real thing. Tall, flaky, made from scratch. The chicken biscuit with honey is delicious. It gets busy, plan accordingly!
Another Broken Egg Cafe
1079 Alafaya Trail, Oviedo
Another Broken Egg serves Southern-inspired breakfast, brunch, and lunch with chef-driven dishes, hand-crafted cocktails, spiked cold brews, mimosas, and a full bar. The Harvest Hash: Brussels sprouts, spinach, roasted onions, and eggs, is so good! The biscuit beignets are worth ordering just to try once.
Located near the corner of Alafaya Trail and Mitchell Hammock Road.
The Townhouse Restaurant
Oviedo
The Townhouse Restaurant is Oviedo’s local comfort spot: a bright, friendly room with a menu that covers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options alongside traditional breakfast favorites.
It feels like the kind of place where the server already knows what you want by your third visit. Classic portions. Good coffee. The kind of breakfast spot every town wishes it had!
Metro Diner
Mitchell Hammock Road, Oviedo
Metro Diner serves generous portions of diner classics and comfort food all day, and has become a consistent favorite for families and regulars near the Oviedo Mall corridor.
The Country Fried Steak Platter is not a light breakfast, it’s is a very good breakfast! There’s a difference.
UCF Corridor
Johnny’s Diner
Near UCF / Alafaya Trail
Johnny’s Diner is a straightforward breakfast spot near UCF that delivers big portions at prices that make sense, a consistent local favorite for everyone from students to longtime East Orlando residents.
Fast and reliable! The kind of place that’s been there forever and will be there long after the new spots cycle through.
Jacob’s Café
East Orlando / Alafaya corridor
Jacob’s Café is one of the most welcoming spots in East Orlando, known for a comfortable atmosphere and a breakfast menu that keeps regulars coming back multiple times a week.
More than a few people in this area will tell you it’s their breakfast provider three or four days a week. That says everything!
One More Thing
One of the things I always tell people who are thinking about moving to East Orlando, the part that doesn’t show up on any list, is how the day-to-day actually feels.
Good breakfast spots within ten minutes. A farmers market on Sunday. Parks nearby. Neighbors who wave.
